Meet Miss Juneteenth

Hello, my name is Nevaeh, and I'm proud to be the very first crowned Miss. Juneteenth Queen of Charlotte, NC.

This journey has opened my eyes in ways I never imagined. I was taught to walk with grace, but also to be fierce. I discovered a new side of myself-one that I'll forever be grateful for. Becoming Miss. Juneteenth helped me learn to love myself more and to speak life into everything I do, no matter how hard it may get.

If there's one thing I want to share, it's this: "always believe in yourself and don't be afraid to try something new. Step out of your comfort zone, trust your light, and walk in every room with your head held high and smile so bright that no one can ever dim it."

~Miss Juneteenth Nevaeh Higdon

Invite our crowned queens and to inspire your next event or celebration. They bring confidence, grace, and heritage wherever they go.

ABOUT US

Meet the Visionary Behind the Pageant

Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19th, marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It stands as a powerful reminder of resilience, liberation, and the ongoing pursuit of equality. Today, Juneteenth is recognized nationwide as a time to honor history, celebrate Black excellence, and embrace cultural pride.

My name is Faith Sanders the visionary behind the Miss Juneteenth Pageant. I and my dynamic team of 8 members are dedicated to creating a platform that celebrates confidence and excellence.

While I am no stranger to the pageantry world, I am excited to bring the Miss Juneteenth Pageant to the city of Charlotte, NC for the first time. This event is more than just a competition, it's a movement designed to uplift and inspire young girls ages 5-18.

It provides opportunities for growth, leadership, and self-expression. I am thrilled to share this journey with the Charlotte community and look forward to making history together! Remember to subscribe to our Instagram platform @vowmissjuneteenth. Please note there are opportunities to advertise your business and book a vendor space at the event. We look forward to you attending this inaugural event!
